2019 Featured Artist

Shuji Nishimura

This years Featured Artist is Shuji Nishimura, a Los Angeles based who has been working as a chalk artists since 2007. This is his first time at our festival but he has found recent success with multiple awards at other chalk painting festivals. He is known for his hyper-realist portraits and has a presence on Facebook and Instagram. Shuji will be recreating Rapheal’s Madonna Della Seggiola (1513-1514) a round triple portrait depicting Mary embracing Christ, while John the Baptist gazes at the mother and child. The work will be 15 x 15 feet.
