Schools & Groups

The Bakersfield Museum of Art is happy to include Kern County schools and children’s organizations in the Via Arté Festival. Due to limited space and sponsorship, BMoA may not be able to accommodate all school applicants. Acceptance is dependent upon early and complete registration.

Theme

Italian Street painting, which dates back to the 13th century, is rich with tradition and has historically been a platform of performance and a way to create art for the masses, often bringing master works to the streets.  In honor of the 20th annual Via Arté Italian Street Painting festival we have implemented the theme “Celebrating Tradition” for all student participants. We encourage each group to consider the importance and significance of traditions within the context of art, culture, community and family.

1. Registration Form Click Here

2. Student Agreement Forms must be completed and returned to BMoA (agreement forms will be emailed upon receipt of registration form).

3. Advisor Agreement Forms must be completed and returned to BMoA (agreement forms will be emailed upon receipt of registration form).

Note: There have been changes to our policies regarding umbrellas and other items on or around the festival area.

(12x8’ and 12x12’)

7:00AM – Artist check-in at The Marketplace
(High school, 4x6’, and 7x7’)

October 21, 2018
3:00PM – Festival Awards announced
