The Bakersfield Museum of Art is happy to include Kern County schools and children’s organizations in the Via Arté Festival. Due to limited space and sponsorship, BMoA may not be able to accommodate all school applicants. Acceptance is dependent upon early and complete registration.


Italian Street painting, which dates back to the 13th century, is rich with tradition and has historically been a platform of performance and a way to create art for the masses, often bringing master works to the streets.  For the 21st annual Via Arté Italian Street Painting festival we have implemented the theme “Our World, United” for all student participants. Often times we compartmentalize our world without taking into consideration the many aspects of life which brings us all together. We encourage students to consider the importance and significance of being part of this world within the context of art, culture, community and nature when selecting a masterwork to render.

2. Student Agreement Forms must be completed and returned to BMoA (agreement forms will be emailed upon receipt of registration form).
